Job Description:

Bridge Engineer II – Irvine, California

Opportunity:

Parsons is now hiring for an excellent Bridge Engineer II to join our team for our rapidly expanding portfolio of projects in our Irvine, CA office. We are looking for candidates with the ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. This position performs bridge design and detailing tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer and will support primarily Caltrans projects in the Southern California region . This role can be filled at a higher level as well. This position can be hired at a Senior Bridge Engineer level as well.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • Work will include design engineering of bridges and structures for road & highway projects in the Southern California region.

  • Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations.

  • Perform detailed checking of design calculations performed by others.

  • Develop structural details and construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD.

  • Assist with geometric layout, construction specification development and material quantity calculations

  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking and improved results.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of bridge engineering and design work experience is required

  • BS in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis or Structural Engineering

  • MS in Structural Engineering is desirable

  • California Professional Engineer (PE) registration is strongly desirable.

  • Caltrans bridge design experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards, policies, and manuals is essential

  • Proficient knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and industry standard bridge design and analysis software

  • Good leadership and emotional intelligence skills

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Salary Range:

$68,400.00 - $142,600.00
