Parsons is seeking a talented senior Network Engineer/Team Lead with experience managing a wide array of Cisco, Fortinet, and Juniper network devices to join our team and support the unclassified Army Research Laboratory enterprise network (ARLEN) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

The qualified candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication and project management and multi-tasking skills along with an ability to zoom in and properly assess (scope out) problem situations while maintaining the big picture perspective.

Responsibilities include:

·Manage/Mentor Network Engineers to include assigning tasks or projects to engineers as needed in concert with the Government team lead and the ServiceNow ticketing system.

·Investigate via individual research or team participation the feasibility and impact of incorporating leading/bleeding edge (i.e. cloud and network virtualization) technologies into the ARLEN that can add value and enhance ARL’s research mission.

·Architect and implement individualized testing and deployment plans to validate and migrate new technologies and infrastructures into the production ARLEN environment with Government approval.

·Craft network policies, practices, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Government review and approval. Create required documentation, performance reports, and network diagrams as required by the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

·Maintain the ARLEN’s security posture in compliance with current NIST RMF controls, DoD STIG guidance, and industry best practices to include upgrading operating systems, performing configuration changes and backups, maintaining base configuration templates, and reviewing system logs so that the ARLEN’s authority to operate (ATO) remains in force.

·Demonstrate a significant understanding of commonly used network related protocols and applications to include, but not limited to BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, 802.1x, 802.11, ICMP, IPSEC, and IPv6 as well as the ability to troubleshoot them using tools such as TCP Dump and Wireshark.

·Handle and/or delegate network issues, incidents, requests and other ARL support tickets that relate to the network.

·Maintain 99.99% required network uptime.

Required Experience/Skills:

·IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+, CCNA or CCNP).

·BS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

·4-7 years of experience with Cisco routers and switches.

·1-3 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortinet, Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls as well as maintaining Cisco ASA remote access VPN appliances.

Preferred Experience/Skills (Not Required):

·Proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst 6500, 4500, 3560, 3650, and Nexus 9300/9500-series routers and switches.

·Very proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco ISE, WLC, Prime Infrastructure, and MSE servers and Cisco Aironet access points for 802.1x and wireless services.

·Proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls.

·Proficient in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting BGP and OSPF routing protocols.

·Proficientwith monitoring and workflow tools such as Solarwinds and ServiceNow.

·Proficient with Visio or other network diagramming tools such as NetBrain.

·Ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot Linux-based scripts on switches or hosts.

·Ability to multi-taskand direct a dedicated team of junior engineers.

·Excellent technical, communication (written oral), and time management skills.

Other Requirements:

·US Citizenship and US residency.

·Active DoD security clearance (Secret with SSBI or higher) along with compliance with applicable DoD 8570.01-M and AR 25-2 requirements.
