Opportunity

Parsons is the Project Management Consultancy for amajor maritime project in Saudi Arabia.The scope of work is to provide a world-class, integrated maritime and dry docking industrial complex. Once complete, the maritime facility will provide new ship building services as well as maintenance, repair and operations services for offshore rigs, platforms, commercial vessels, and offshore support vessels. We are the Project Management Consultancy for this project and currently searching for a Quay Wall, Breakwater and Revetment Specialist.

Main Responsibilities

  • The Specialist will oversee and coordinate all design submissions and construction activities performed by the EPC Contractor(s).

  • Has a review and acceptance role towards EPC Contractor’s activities.

  • Develop and implement design and construction methods and procedures.

  • At all times follow highest quality and safety standards in line with customer requirements and Parsons’ Quality and Safety policies and systems.

  • Leads in the formulation of advanced technical concepts or provides specialist services in support of project requirements. Independently performs highly complex professional assignments.

Required qualifications and skills

  • University degree (level BSc or MSc) in Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering or another related discipline from an accredited and reputable university.

  • At least 20 years of work experience in the maritime and ports industry.

  • Extensive experience related to design of quay walls, breakwaters, revetments and other marine structures.

  • Construction supervision experience.

  • Experience working as Technical Director, Principal Engineer or Discipline Lead for an established international Engineering Consultancy or EPC Contractor.

  • Excellent English language skills.

  • Good knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with Marine Engineering.

  • International work experience is an added advantage.
