Parsons Corporation Senior Resident Construction Manager (Mechanical / Utility Networks) in Al-Sinaiyah, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:

Part of the Saudi 2030 Vision, the Yanbu City Program on the West (Red Sea) Coast of KSA is one of the largest and most significant schemes in Parsons' history.

We have just agreed the budgets for the coming year which is 100% positive and we will be growing the team with a view to escalating the works.

A key requirement will be western educated / experienced Senior Resident Construction Manager (Mechanical / Utility Networks). This role will be based in the General Utility Section of the Construction Department focusing on infrastructure utilities installation.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE ANY APPLICANTS MUST POSSESS A BACHELOR'S DEGREE QUALIFICATION IN AN ENGINEERING DISCIPLINE OR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT OBTAINED FULL-TIME IN CLASSROOM FROM A WESTERN UNIVERSITY.

  • Team player and responsible for teams of subordinates and can manage effectively

  • Proven track record in successfully managing and controlling multitude of concurrent projects, contractors and subcontractors

  • Working with agreed financial budgets, risks, change management and timelines to bring projects to successful handover and closure

  • Contractually aware, ensuring projects are in compliance with drawings, specifications and programmes

  • Fully conversant with all forms of reporting/presenting, their processes and methods

Key activates will include:

  • Monitors and ensures Contractor meets and fulfills project goals, KPIs and any other methodologies

  • Initiates and chairs regular meetings and workshops required to deliver the works to the agreed quality standards, safely within agreed budgets and timeframes

  • Team player, develops working relationship with subordinates and contractors

  • Provides project management guidance in interpretation of specifications, procedures, methods, schedules, and productivity. Reviews clashes and or conflicts to resolve problems with contractor performance to determine best options.

  • Supervises the Resident Construction Engineers (Arch, Civil, Elec, Mech) and administrative support staff.

  • Receives initiates and routes all correspondence and submittals between Contractor and Owner.

  • Reviews shop drawings / as-built drawings, material submittals and technical or contractual clarifications submitted by contractor, and coordinates and routes for various Departmental or End User approvals.

  • Reviews and recommends approval of Contractor’s Monthly Invoices and Progress reports.

  • Any other duties that are deemed to be necessary to successfully fulfill the role and requirements of the client organization

Applicants with the following qualifications and credentials are sought:

  • Bachelor's Degree Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline obtained at a Western University.

  • Over 15 years of construction experience, of which at least 8 years must be direct Project Management or Construction Management responsibility on large scale wet and dry Infrastructure Utilities Projects.

  • Professional Membership or Project Management certification is desirable.

  • Working experience and general knowledge of multi-craft and multi-discipline construction practices – and in a multi-cultural environment

  • 5 years international industry exposure desirable.

  • Fluent in English – oral and written, is mandatory. Arabic skills would be a plus!

  • Knowledgeable with MS Office software, MS Project, Primavera, MSWord, Excel, Power Point.

  • Must be able to obtain KSA Driver License
