Parsons is seeking a fulltime Project Manager to provide full-time Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) management support to a confidential milk protein synthesis facility located in upstate New York. The project includes the supervision of engineering design and construction for: facility infrastructure upgrades, chemical storage system upgrades and wastewater system upgrades. The project duration is up to three years with an immediate start date. Extensions for the assignment are to be determined by the Owner and at to-be-determined milestones. The EPC manager will be required to be on-site four days per week. Relocation is not required. The EPC manager will be reimbursed for travel and living expenses for the rural upstate New York location at a rate to be negotiated upon Owner acceptance of the applicant. The position is contingent upon Owner selection.

As an EPC Manager you will facilitate innovative new construction and expansion projects for a manufacturing plant dedicated to infant nutritionals. The scope of the projects are multidisciplinary and range in value from $500K to several million dollars. Typical projects include spray drying tower, infrastructure upgrades, chemical storage and NFPA compliance upgrades, wastewater system upgrades and some environmental clean-up. The EPC Manager will supervise the work of technical leads from concept engineering to commissioning. The candidate must:

  • Know how to keep a team motivated and complete a project within the time and budget without compromising safety or quality

  • The EPC Manager will be the lead contact and overall coordinator of multi-discipline teams covering several projects.

  • The EPC Manager will need to facility good working relations between the Site Operations and engineering teams as well suppliers.

  • The EPC Manager will be responsible to report to the On-Site management team and coordinate with the Corporate management team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS :

  • Direct the overall planning of engineering activities associated with the Site upgrade projects.

  • Direct the overall planning of construction activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.

  • Report project status using the Corporate capital management process (RFC)

  • Good reporting skills including writing and verbal communications

  • Able to communicate code and standards to Site teams and Corporate contacts.

  • Able to create and maintain progress action logs and schedules

  • Contact management experience and understanding

  • Self motivated and able to communicate internally as necessary

  • Good team player with motivation to lead the project to conclusion.

  • Willingness to make project decisions and support those decisions.

  • Open to feedback from management

  • A good network of contacts with local contractors in the upstate New York area.

  • Willingness to travel to NL for short business trips relevant information and training

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Environmental or Engineering related technical/business field

  • 12+ years of related environmental project management experience is required

  • Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background.

  • Professional registration may also be required.

  • Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project. Our Project Managers still get very involved in the designs on the project.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental industry standards

  • Incumbent must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications
