The Missions Solutions Directorate within Parsons Space & Geospatial Solutions (S&GS) market is searching for a full-time Satellite Operations Engineer in Albuquerque, NM, in support of the STEC (Space Test and Engineering Contract) program. The Program's scope includes engineering support and operations of one-of-a-kind research and development satellites, to include pre-launch, launch and early orbit mission planning, on-orbit operations, and anomaly resolution. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with research and development spacecraft and want to be part of a company that provides products and services that span the engineering, testing, operation, and sustainment of critical capabilities and programs ranging from intricate systems and architectures to highly complex enterprises. Candidates will perform analysis, systems engineering, and integration tasks in support of spacecraft pre-launch, launch and early orbit (L&EO), and on-orbit operations and support services.
Analyze satellite ground systems loading and architecture/infrastructure and recommend improvements
Perform analysis on ground system usage to forecast the ability of available resources to support new space programs and other requirements
Support analysis, development and modification of ground system and AFSCN architecture
Provide operations expertise and participate in system architecture Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Engineering Working Group (EWG) meetings
Apply operations expertise to identify limitations and system deficiencies, risks, and provide prioritized operations requirements
Support operational evaluation and acceptance of software releases and hardware upgrades to include planning and preparation, operation of the equipment, performance evaluation, and risk and suitability assessments
Analyze proposed missions to determine their compatibility with existing AFSCN or other control networks and system resources
Provide evaluation of ground system and network status, troubleshoot problems, participate in resolution activities, and document the problems in government-provided tools
Must be a US Citizen
Must have an active DoD TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility
Bachelor's Degree and at least 10 years of related professional experience - Extensive job experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
