Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Engineer to join our team!
Candidates must be local to the DC/MD/VA area or willing to relocate.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Support AFC System Logistics to include system reengineering and logistics.
Engineering hardware and software to improve testing, monitoring, and control of AFC systems.
Test Fare Products and document test procedures and results.
Perform Operational Testing of the system and document of test procedures and results.
Perform Regression Testing of Software and documentation of test procedures and results.
Perform testing to verify corrections to issues on Master Issues List and documentation of test procedures and results.
Submit Test Plan Documentation.
Support Field Installation and Field Testing.
Assist with AFC System troubleshooting, management, operations, reengineering, upgrades, and logistics.
Assist engineers with installation and operation of advanced testing tools.
Background and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field,
10+ years of experience in transit engineering or related field;Over 3 years of software engineering, fare collection system, system testing or equivalent experience
Experience with public transit fare collection systems.
Demonstrated experience with Evaluation, selection and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for projects with complex features.
Experience with Collaborative use of judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments and oversight of small projects or portions of larger projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or the equivalent education and experience.
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCS-DSS) experience.
Experience with Nextfare 5 and other Cubic systems.

Salary Range:
$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
