SGSS seeks a full-time development operations engineer to work with our customers, sponsors, and partners supporting DevSecOps requirements in US Gov't Commercial Cloud environments, enabling space/ground software development and deployment, embedding security throughout their development lifecycles, and orchestrating cloud-native and hybrid-cloud space ground station development and operations. You will execute on DevSecOps security engagements during different phases of the lifecycle – assessment, design, implementation, and post-implementation reviews as follows:

  • Develop and configuration manage development and test automation in Jenkins for Gov't Off-the-Shelf software.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource in automation of cloud cyber risk mitigation in (AWS, AWS GovCloud, and classified offerings)

  • Verify of security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • This position will iteratively design, deliver, and operate a cross-domain DevSecOps software transfer capability.

  • Design, implement, manage, and automate Application and Infrastructure security tools (containerized Scanning and VM tools) along with integrations to CI/CD pipelines, automated workflows, script-based integrations, etc.

  • Specify and configure physical and virtual machines with RHEL or Windows OS.

  • Perform current state analysis of an organization's system security controls and measures against industry leading security standards, and provide recommendations for enhancement.

  • Implement configuration management automation (e.g., Ansible) to maintain configuration.

  • Develop workflow in Python or similar scripting languages.

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with security embedded using such technologies as Terraform and CloudFormation.

  • Document, train, and operate a software assurance capability at multiple security levels.

  • Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods, and tools to support Secure by Design service offerings and client engagements.

  • Verify of security systems by developing and implementing test scripts.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be US citizen

  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Computer Science, Software Engineer, Information Technology, etc) and no less than one year of related professional experience; will also consider four (4) years of related work experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree

  • Basic system administration of RHEL and/or Windows experience

  • Familiarity with at least one industry standard programming language (C++, JAVA, Python)

  • Knowledge of a commercial cloud provider (AWS, Azure)

  • Familiar with a CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, GitLab)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of teamwork and service skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, to supported staff, management, and government customers

  • Experience serving in security management in a classified IT development program

  • Active DoD TS/SCI

  • Familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation)
