Job Description:

Would you enjoy being involved on a wide variety of program tasks on complex projects? Parsons is now hiring a Senior Project Planner for our rapidly expanding portfolio of construction projects.

Parsons' extensive experience in this field combined with your planning knowledge and engineering techniques will propel your career forward. We need our Project Planner at this level to apply diverse and intensive proficiency in the use of technical theories, practices, and company policies. In this role you will provide technical expertise to a team of professionals and technicians on large projects, or on several smaller projects or studies, involving the development of plans for the utilization of land and construction of physical facilities to support a multi-building pedestrian office complex. Our Planners are responsible for the technical excellence of the tasks and analyses performed, regulatory compliance, to include owners Facility Criteria, and for on schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical architectural planning expertise as part of a team of professionals and technicians supporting an 'owners agent' construction requirements organization.

  • Reviews plans for the utilization of land and construction of physical facilities for a large, multi-building pedestrian office campus.

  • Participates in requirements definition, and reviews design documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes and Facilities Criteria.

  • Responsible for the technical excellence of the tasks and analyses performed, regulatory compliance, and for on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.

  • Serves as an on-site staff manager, technical leader, and a recognized expert in field of practice.

  • Makes staffing recommendations to the Program Manager as project needs arise.

  • Monitors productivity and proficiency of assigned personnel.

  • Reviews work produced by teammates to ensure that all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations are followed, that current techniques are utilized, and that quality is acceptable.

  • Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, transportation, industrial, and community uses.

  • Provides advice and counsel regarding regulatory compliance issues.

  • Develops and presents recommendations based on governmental measures for major projects affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation to control and guide community development and renewal.

  • Maintains active membership in appropriate professional organizations and societies.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture related field

  • Registered Professional Architect

  • LEED AP

  • 10+ years of applicable Architectural experience.

  • Working knowledge and proficiency in application of project and staff management principles

  • Expert knowledge of construction planning practices and procedures

  • Proficiency in utilizing PC and various software packages typically used in planning assignments

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Thorough understanding of local statutes and environmental rules and regulations

  • Proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project

  • Active TS SCI w/ Polygraph

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
