Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a Chief Process Engineer, to support a major Renewable Fuels facility expansion. As a $4 billion annual company that is consistently ranked by Engineering News-Record as one of the top Program Management and Construction Management firms in the world, we have the capacity and capability to fully support our Industrial clients through project execution, mechanical completion, start-up, and commissioning. RESPONSIBILITIES Process engineering activities will include:

  • Perform systems and process design

  • Develop technologies from concept inception through testing and commercialization

  • Develop procedures, tools, templates, and standard processes to be used consistently

  • Execute and manage projects and field research programs through team collaborations

  • Communicate and present research internally and externally

  • Provide technical support to production units

  • Oversee design responsibilities including:

  • Process thermodynamics & Simulation

  • Transport phenomena, including single and multi-phase flow, heat and mass transfer in separations (distillation, adsorption, absorption)

  • Facilities design, operation and troubleshooting

  • Advanced process control system development & modeling

  • Relief and flare system design and operation, including isolation and depressurizing

  • Safety hazard and operability analyses, consequence analysis, and risk assessments

  • Process data analytics for industrial process monitoring, diagnostics and optimization


  • BS in Chemical Engineering

  • 20+ years of experience in refining process design, research and development, and technology licensing

  • 5+ years of experience working in an Owners Representative type Integrated Project Management Team

  • Experience with alternative energy and fuels analysis and consulting

  • Experience working on large scale billion-dollar projects

  • Experience working in remote locations and associated logistics, environmentally sensitive areas, and highly modularized designs

  • Preferably based in Houston
