Do you enjoy being involved on a wide variety of engineering tasks on large scale, projects? Parsons is now hiring an Entry Level Structural Bridge Engineer for our rapidly expanding business. This position is open to new graduates !

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this position you will plan and design various bridge structures such as prestressed concrete girder, steel plate girder, segmental, arch, and truss bridge structures. In addition, you may assist in field inspections and the preparation of inspection reports.
In this role: you will be working with a team supporting primarily regional projects for the Southeast US, and produce structural design calculations and detailed construction documents. Keys to your success will be your structural engineering experience in bridge design with attention to detail and good working knowledge of industry standard bridge design and analysis software.
Prefer at least 6 months (or multiple internships) up to 3 years of related work experience in bridge design.
MS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis is highly desirable.
Performs a variety of structural engineering duties, supporting bridge engineering & design
Responsible for the development of engineering computations, drawings, material quantity take-offs, estimates, surveys and designs.
Under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, develops the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements.
Performs various engineering and design assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program, and available data in the engineering field.
Provides support for other engineering activities as required.
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Civil Engineering (or related field) with structural emphasis
Some related work experience and/or internships preferred
An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is preferred
Requires basic process engineering knowledge, as well as a working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with structural engineering
Any relevant internship experience, or some professional work experience with bridge design is highly desirable
