Parsons is now hiring for a highly experienced Lead Roadway Design Engineer to support our transportation infrastructure projects in Georgia and the surrounding region. In this role, you will lead and mentor more junior engineers supporting a specific long term Georgia DOT project, and serve as technical subject matter expert, handling the contractor and client interfaces.

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to support Roadway design projects in the Georgia region. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects and support designs for both conventional and Integrated delivery (design/build) projects. Your projects could include roadway rehabilitations, bridge rehabilitations, new roadway designs, interstate widening/expansions, roundabouts, toll-lanes, intersection improvements - just to name a few! We are a key player in the transportation sector in Georgia and have worked with GDOT clients for over 40 years and have 30+ projects in our backlog and have a number of projects in the proposal/pursuit process! Additional functions include:
Perform a variety of design and analysis functions for primary road/highway project in Georgia
Handle and oversee the client and contractor relationships and interface
Perform vertical alignments, and horizontal impacts, analyze cross-sections, calculate super-elevations, and execute grading and permit/plan preparation
Serve as technical subject matter expert for client service on large scale highway project in Georgia
Perform complex engineering computations and analyses, material quantity takeoffs, estimates and surveys
Perform designs using complex software like Microstation, InRoads, Open Roads and Autocad Civil 3D
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
Must have 8 years or more of related civil road/highway design experience.
Professional Engineer ( PE) registration is required.
GDOT experience is preferred; some US DOT experience is required.
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. (Prefer experience with Microstation and Autocad Civil 3D)
