Job Description:

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons as the prime contractor. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required. Work to be performed at the William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey in support of the Laboratory Engineering Branch.

Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Collect infrastructure supply and equipment specifications and develop and maintain database of information.

  • Perform site surveys of infrastructure systems and accurately document conditions.

  • Attend technical meetings and testing activities.

  • Provide support in the preparation of designs and construction cost estimates for infrastructure modifications to accommodate requirements.

  • Formulate and maintain documentation of electrical and heat load analyses as required.

  • Conduct selective engineering studies and detailed designs.

  • Review designs by others and provide comments to FAA Laboratory Engineering Branch.

  • Monitor construction for compliance with approved designs and advise on deviations, survey and provide “redline” drawings upon construction completion.

  • Develop, update and maintain documentation (including reports, information booklets, manuals, etc.) and databases as necessary in support of the FAA Laboratory Engineering Branch, including but not limited to Laboratory policies, guidelines, technical instructions, standards, etc.

  • Utilize technical equipment to take measurements. Download, present and maintain data as requested.

  • Other minor tasks related to this area not listed specifically in the Work Release Plan.

Required Skills:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college. (Third party evaluation of ABET equivalency may be accepted.)

  • 10+ years of electrical design related experience in facilities, power distribution systems, data center design, power quality analysis, lighting systems, fire alarm systems and controls, grounding, lightning protection, Uninterruptible Power Sources (UPS) and security systems.

  • Must be able to pass government background check.

  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications is preferred.

  • Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.

  • Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization to find mutually beneficial solutions.

  • Ability to plan and manage multiple simultaneous projects and work activities in accordance with cost, schedule and technical baselines.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
