SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: Shift work primarily in a 24/7 environment, i.e., days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Work closely with the Hardware Maintenance Lead, Ground System Engineer (GSE), and Air Force customers. Ensure SBIRS network and computer systems are operating properly. Monitor system performance and resolve system performance issues.
Provide real time resolution of problems to avoid and/or minimize system downtime, including restoral of functions as quickly as possible, performing fault isolation, and performing maintenance actions once fault is isolated. Remove and replace faulty item, repair faulty item, contact responsible external agency if fault is outside SBIRS equipment (Backbone, SRS, NMC, etc). Monitor progress of all unresolved problems and provide updates to document hardware problems, report use of spares to Logistics; perform Preventative Maintenance Inspections/Actions; manage/maintain COMSEC/crypto material; actively participate in installation and checkout of new hardware/software/firmware versions as it pertains to communications and networks.
Perform system restore, fault isolation, and system maintenance actions as required. Coordinate depot level and equipment vendor maintenance support activities. Monitor progress of all unresolved problems and provide updates to site management. Work directly with on-site logistics, depot logistics and facility support to resolve spares, test equipment and facility issues. Review and recommend changes/technical solutions to Preliminary Engineering Evaluations and Program Support Agreements. Conduct site surveys for system installations, site tours, system overview briefings and orientation presentations for senior customer staff members, inspection teams, newly assigned team members and support agencies.
Present daily system status briefings to senior internal and external customers and site/program managers. Attend Technical Interchange Meetings.
Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on computer and communications equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinated engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations.

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION: Designs, develops, programs, installs, implements, conducts research for, and maintains internal data processing computer systems and utilities, and/or for customers on a contract basis. Analyzes internal or external customer's needs, and determines equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems; develops customized solutions to customer/user problems. Establishes system parameters and formats; ensures hardware/software compatibility; and coordinates and/or modifies user requirements in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. May make programming changes as required to adapt or enhance existing or new programs and/or utilities. Maintains supplied software packages for internal users. Analyzes new hardware to determine its need or application in the existing or proposed system; advises on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs and utilities, taking into consideration personnel, time, and hardware requirements, and makes trade-off analyses; develops general and detailed documentation describing system specifications and operating instructions; and revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education,
Minimum 2 years of professional experience.
The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $80,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off and 401K.Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
