The Mobility Solutions Business Unit provides planning, design, program management, and construction management to a wide range of infrastructure clients, mainly in North America. The TxDOT Traditional Delivery Senior Engineer will complete a wide variety of engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices involving TxDOT traditional delivery projects including Schematic/Environmental and/or PS&E.
This job can be based in any of our Texas offices and is eligible for any of our flexible work arrangements.
Perform complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Extract engineering information for CAD drawings.
Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.
Prepare, coordinate, and supervise engineering design for assigned projects/tasks.
Participate in strategizing, storyboarding, writing, and reviewing proposals – become an integral part of the team’s success.
Serve as Discipline Lead on pursuits and opportunities with TxDOT and other clients. Support Alternative Technical Concept development for design/build proposals.
Participate in proposal writing, client meetings, and client presentations.
Engage and serve in leadership positions within industry organizations, with specific subcommittee involvement at relevant organizations.
Seek opportunities to make presentations or write articles. Encourage others in the team to do the same.
Help to build the practice by networking, attracting early career engineers, and by developing members of the team.
Preferred Experience and Education
4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); Master’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
Minimum 5-10 years of related work experience, preferably in TxDOT traditional delivery projects (Schematic/Env and/or PS&E).
Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas is strongly preferred.
Precertification on a minimum of 4 TxDOT work categories is preferred.
Experience interfacing with TxDOT is preferred.
Solid foundational knowledge of basic software such as MicroStation OpenRoads SS 10, ORD, ProjectWise, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Business Development experience preferred.
Excellent writing and presentation skills.
