Job Description:

We are hiring a Senior or Principal level Bridge Design Engineer with a desire to work on both conventional and Design/Build Bridge programs, within the DC/VA/MD area, and also support projects around the country as needed. You can be a part of a global company that has been in business for over 75 years and has transformed over 4400 bridges around the world!

We have numerous active bridge projects in DC/VA/MD region, in various stages of design, from concept to construction. At Parsons, we have the technical expertise to deliver any type of bridge design, including Long Span bridges, Segmental bridges, Cable-Stayed bridges, Movable bridges and Suspension Bridges as well as conventional Single-Span bridges. We are respected for our technical depth, client focus and project execution. Our team has a long-standing history with VDOT, DDOT and MDOT, and we are known for our ability to deliver leading edge designs for these important clients.

In this role, you will design and perform various analyses for bridges of all sizes and scope. You can expect to help manage and coordinate tasks with other members of our bridge group to deliver final designs to our clients. Engineers at this level also support proposal and new bid opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.

  • Provide support to Proposals and new bid opportunities

  • Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.

  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.

  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 8+ years of related work experience.

Professional Engineer registration is required.

Proficiency in MicroStation and other PC Structural Engineering software packages typically associated with engineering is required.

Experience working on design-build projects is preferred.

Experience with VDOT, OR DDOT OR MDOT is required

Some experience leading and directing other engineers/CAD designers is preferred.

Salary Range:

$79,100.00 - $161,400.00
