We are looking for Sr. Inspectors to join ourexpanding Construction Managementteam located inthe Northeast USA. In this role, you will work on site at the airport with the client, and support construction projects for terminal and runway expansions. Prefer candidates that are willing to relocate to other project locations.

In this role, you will perform the most difficult and complex inspection tasks, including assessing adherence to quality control procedures for steel. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one or more of the following areas: soils, concrete, steel, mechanical, or electrical. You may frequently serve in the capacity of Lead Inspector. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected.
Provides inspection services for onsite locations. Fully qualified representative capable of performing with little supervision. Capable of interpreting project plans and directing client contact. Plans and coordinates all field inspection activities and reviews the work of contractor to ensure compliance with job specifications
Demonstrated familiarity with various common job site conditions, problems encountered in assigned territory, and proper procedures for refinement. Commissioning, punch list, and contract management. Able to assist in management of client-contractor-Project Manager liaison.
Conducts tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications and may include any of the following:
Observes work in progress to ensure conformance with specifications.
Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards.
Maintains daily report of construction inspection activities.
Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and incorporates changes into master plans.
Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, subcontractors, security, etc.
Inspects equipment operation and material on the job site. Interprets specifications as related to materials and workmanship.
Assumes responsibility of administering portions of the contract, which includes preparing change orders and pay requests.
Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety programs. Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
Responsible for quality assurance and control process and procedures.
Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field and minimum of 10 years construction inspection experience or a high school diploma and minimum of 14 years construction inspection work experience, is required.
Must have experience working on Airport construction projects, prefer experience working on terminal additions/expansions. Airport facility construction experience is also preferred.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment.
Have the potential to perform in a lead capacityand lead other inspectors and oversee subcontractors working on a project.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications, be totally familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment, and have the potential to perform in a lead capacity. Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions and prepare written messages and reports. Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts. Proficiency with basic computer usage, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project Management Software and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent) required. Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards. Must have thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills. Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary. Ability to use good judgment and work with others is required. Requires ability to climb ladders, inspect work above ground, and work in confined spaces. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs (i.e. lifting materials used for testing of concrete, AC, etc.).
