Parsons is now hiring a Systems Assurance Manager who can lead a team of professionals overseeing the extensive and critical Systems Design and Systems Assurance activities for the Broadway Subway Extension to the Millennium Line, part of the SkyTrain fully automated rapid transit System serving the greater Vancouver area.

We need our Engineering Managers to be versatile as well as have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you provide management and direction for the Systems Assurance team for a major Rail Systems Infrastructure project. You will recruit, interview, and evaluate prospective employees as well as hire, offer personnel development, conduct performance evaluations, counsel employees, takes corrective actions (as required), and approves terminations. One of your roles will include ensuring that new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.
Reviews and approves discipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules on each project.
Maintains appropriate staffing level, including temporary personnel, as needed. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
If assigned to a major program, manages all systems assurance, including systems engineering and RAM processes for relevant disciplines required for the project or program. The role may also include System Safety processes.
Coordinates all systems assurance staffing requirements for the program.
Monitors the quality and progress of the systems assurance activities on the project, ensuring that performance and process requirements are satisfied.
Works closely with other Project Managers, including System Safety, System Design, Civil other disciplines to resolve any existing or forecasted problems related to team staffing, quality of work, schedule, performance or delivery.
Participates in developing System Assurance standards and procedures for the project or for the organization.
Supports precontract and business development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
Ensures performance within overhead budgets authorized for the systems assurance discipline.
May head a committee within the systems assurance discipline, striving to motivate and educate the assigned personnel.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience
Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society may be required
Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity Excellent written and oral communications skills
Thorough knowledge of industry practices, standards and regulations are required, including the ISO/IEC/IEEE-15288 System Engineering Standard and the EN-50126 RAM and Safety Standard for Railway Applications
Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific system engineering software tools for use in completing engineering assignments, including Requirements and Configuration Management, Power and Operations analyses.
