Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Geotechnical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will support various mine closure investigations, designs, and construction projects, and provide oversight to these projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Performs a variety of civil/environmental engineering tasks to complete remedial designs for mine waste and other geo-environmental applications.
Familiarity with hydrology, open channel hydraulics, or fluvial geomorphology
Develop and oversee investigation programs.
Analyze and interpret laboratory geotechnical test results.
Review boring logs and develops subsurface soil profiles.
Perform geotechnical engineering calculations, such as slope stability and settlement.
Assist in developing design drawings and writing technical specifications.
Write technical design reports and memos.
Complete investigation and construction field assignments (as needed),
Obtain the necessary management skills to grow into a Task Manager/Project Manager/ Technical Lead position.
Work effectively and collaboratively with the project team.
Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident-free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both client and Parsons.
Willingness to periodically travel to field sites is expected.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineer or related field.
5 or more years of related work experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
Proficiency in Microsoft software and various computer software applications.
Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) preferred
