Job Description:

In this position, the engineer will be responsible for understanding customer information challenges and creating unique solutions to address those challenges. This is an opportunity to join the team supporting Special Operations Command, Pacific at Camp HM Smith, Hawaii with field FSRs across the Pacific collecting requirements for the HQ SOCPAC-based team to implement. The work environment is fast-paced with rapidly changing priorities, which requires the candidate to be flexible and focused.

  • Support the creation, implementation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of data analysis and visualization products.

  • Create, maintain, configure, and upgrade client data domains.

  • Support client user communities to include training, assistance with software use, and assistance in the generation of analytical products.

  • Document all on-site configurations/customizations and coordinate with CONUS-based engineers for configuration management.

  • Serve as a corporate representative for demonstrating Polaris Alpha capabilities to the organization and visitors.

  • Analyze client requirements, data sources, infrastructure, and gaps to develop comprehensive solutions using data analysis and visualization products.

  • Serve as a user advocate throughout the development process by monitoring and representing client change requests and software bugs reports while providing client follow-up.

  • Provide basic hands-on system administration support based on direction from the system administration team.

  • On occasion, support business development activities to include providing contact opportunities, supporting proposals, or attending meetings.

Required Skills

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Must possess a Secret U.S. Government security clearance

  • Experience with the following: Javascript, HTML, CSS, SQL, XML, JSON

  • Experience creating custom web-based visualizations

  • Able to write Web Service calls to external systems

  • Use and administration of DBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle a dynamic environment where priorities consistently shift

  • Ability to deliver high visibility products (directly supporting 4-star efforts) in a short time period

  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies

  • Self-started who identifies a risk/problem and initiates activity to address it without being prompted

  • Able to work on a geographically dispersed team and help others or ask for help when needed

Desired Skills

  • Security + Certification

  • Possess a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance

  • Experience merging data sources to drive one visualization

  • Support Web-enabled Temporal Analysis System (WebTAS) in an operational environment.

  • Experience with Java, Powershell scripting and Angular

  • Understand CIDNE capabilities and structure

  • Administration of server operating systems such as Microsoft Window Server and Linux.

  • Database design.

  • Programming or scripting languages.

  • Software Requirements Development.

  • Conduct Software Training.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
