Parsons is now hiring experienced electrical engineering supervisors for a large space/aerospace project in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The project involves electrical, IC, and communications disciplines. Successful candidates will assemble a team of engineers and designers, plan and direct their activities, maintain schedule and budget, and report status on a regular and frequent basis.
Reviews and approvesdiscipline staffing budget estimates and staffing assignment schedules oneach project. Reviews and approves staff forecasting reports.
Monitors the quality andprogress of the discipline on each project, ensuring that productionrequirements are satisfied. Works closely with Project Managers toresolve any existing or forecasted problems related to disciplinestaffing, quality of work, schedule performance or productivity.
Establishes standards andprocedures manuals for the discipline. Recommends improvements todepartment procedures
Responsible for overallmanagerial and technical direction of the discipline. Recruits,interviews, and evaluates prospective employees. Hires, offerspersonnel development, conducts performance evaluations, counsels, takescorrective action, as required and approves terminations. Ensuresthat new employees receive orientation on company policies and procedures.
Supports pre-contract andbusiness development efforts as required, serving as technical consultant.
Ensures performancewithin budgets assigned to the discipline.
Actively participates inand promotes the Quality Improvement Program.
Performs otherresponsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
·Individual must be capable of obtaining a Kennedy Space Center site security badge
·4-year BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering and 15 to 25 years of related work experience, including significant managerial experience of a large group of Engineers, Designers, and technical support personnel.
·Florida Professional Engineer registration or Professional Engineer registration in another state with a current NCEES Record as a professional engineer and ability to obtain a Florida registration.
·Active membership in a professional engineering society
·Significant engineering/procurement/construction experience on large capital projects
·Proven ability for managing a large group of engineering/technical personnel and directing work involving complex technical situations
·Excellent written and oral communications skills
·Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
·Thorough knowledge of current technology and the capabilities and efficiencies of specific engineering software for use in completing engineering assignments
