The successful candidate will support the Joint Task Force – Space Defense Commercial Operations (JCO) cell in their quest to find and integrate best of breed commercial space domain awareness capabilities and build stronger relationships with our coalition partners. As part of the Defense Readiness Agile Gaming Online Network (DRAGON) Army, you will help develop and support a sandbox environment for these capabilities to enable rapid integration and evaluation of these capabilities.
Our team is looking for a dynamic individual to support an exciting role on this team consisting of part time database administration support and part time support in one of the following roles: Data Scientist, Scrum Master, Cyber Security, Back End Developer, or Front-End Developer. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining current databases, reviewing future database requirement needs, and designing and implementing database enhancements in accordance with the end user’s needs. The other part of your role will give you the opportunity to gain additional experience with one of the following skill sets: Data Scientist, Scrum Master, Cyber Security, Back End Developer, and/or Front-End Developer. You will have the opportunity to support the development and evaluation of cutting-edge systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.
The qualified candidate must have strong communication and troubleshooting skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is 60% remote and 40% on-site in Colorado Springs, CO.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent; additional experience, applicable training, and/or certifications (2-3 years) may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 4-5 years of Database Administration experience
Hands-on experience with scalable enterprise database applications
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
Proven customer service, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize efficiency
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Must be a US citizen due to DoD contract requirements
Some experience as either a Data Scientist, Scrum Master, Cyber Security, Back End Developer, and/or Front-End Developer
Data Scientist: statistics, data visualization, data engineering, Tableau experience, Machine Learning, Python, SQL/Postgres, Agile experience
Scrum master: soft skills (i.e. Interpersonal communication, organization, attention to detail) Gitlab, Scrum, Agile (certification by an existing authority (e.g. Scrum Alliance, Scrum.org) is a bonus)
Cybersecurity: significant experience with Keycloak or experience implementing zero-trust architectures
Back End Dev: Python, RUST, and/or Java
Able to obtain Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
