Deputy Computer Infrastructure Project Manager

The Deputy Project Manager will report to the Computer Infrastructure Project Manager supporting a large program.

The Deputy Program Manager will provide management support for the project and ensure on schedule completion in accordance with contractual obligations. The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Infrastructure Project Manager with development, management and performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives. You will support the Computer Infrastructure Project Manager with planning and defining project goals and devising methods to accomplish them; assisting with developing in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contractual terms and policies. The ideal candidate must be familiar with the integration of engineering/technical aspects of a project, as well as procurement, contracting, financial controls, subcontractor, facility, and recruiting activities.


  • The Deputy Project Manager will work in conjunction with the Computer Infrastructure Project Manager to perform the following duties related to the project:

  • Assist Project Manager with procuring equipment per a bill of materials, assembling computer systems for the procured components, documenting installation guides, implementing Risk Management Framework controls, transferring equipment to customer and ensuring accountability of hand receipts and supporting equipment fielding.

  • Support Project Manager in leading a team of technical professionals in the areas of Systems

  • Administration, Information Technology, and Network Engineering.Field computer server systems comprised of Parsons developed software applications hosted on Red hat Enterprise Linux virtual machines running in a VMWare vSphere/ESXi virtualization environment.

  • Assist Project Manager with the establishment of Project Execution Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Security Plans, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documentation as required

  • Assist Project Manager to evaluate requirements and monitor deliverables for adherence to contract requirement criteria.

  • Assist Project Manager with planning, directing, supervising and controlling the execution of business, technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the assigned project.

  • Work with other managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop schedules and plans for various elements of a project.Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established by these plans.

  • Promote technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Establish meetings to review project status and formulate action items.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, Business/Program Management or similar field required, Masters preferred with 15+ years of experience.

  • Candidate must have a DoD Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance and be able to meet additional eligibility requirements.

  • Experience with agile development processes and tools, such as JIRA

  • DoD 8570 Level II certification required

  • PMP Certification preferred

  • SCRUM Master certification preferred

  • Information Technology experience- VMWare vSphere/ESXi Virtualization,

  • Information Assurance practices

  • Risk Management Framework process for attaining Authority to Operate


  • Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Additionally, a demonstrated proficiency in keyboard skills and the utilization of Microsoft Office are required.
