Our Industrial Market is a world-class leader in delivering engineering, project management and technology enhanced solutions to electric and gas utilities, independent energy providers, private sector industrial clients, and various government agencies. Our primary services include program and construction management, capital project execution, renewable energy implementation, cyber/software solutions, critical infrastructure protection and resiliency and delivery of comprehensive environmental solutions for a wide array of customers.

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Business Development Director to join our sales team to expand and differentiate us in our Utility/Energy market area. The landscape for these customers is rapidly changing and more competitive than ever before. Climate change, cyber threats, market shifts, and new regulatory requirements create both opportunities and threats to our customers. We have a team of technology gurus, engineers and project managers that excel at working with our customers to understand the unique nature of their project requirements, and expertly deliver integrated solutions designed for optimal performance. This position can be located anywhere in the US (virtual office) with an expected 75% travel within the US and Canada to cultivate new and ongoing business endeavors.

Key Responsibilities include:

Drive market, client and pursuit strategies in partnership with management across all of our Sectors

Develop/deliver annual sales plan consistent with growth objectives

Establish and maintain client relationships in support of new and ongoing sales

Follow up on ongoing sales to ensure we are delivering on our promises

Develop and oversee the creation of high-quality marketing materials and winning proposals

Own opportunities from identifying lead through contract close

Effectively negotiate contracts and commercial terms to close sales

Keep abreast of market and industry trends to identify new opportunities, understand price to win and position for adjacent growth opportunities

Maintain a CRM database of key competitor capabilities and commercial competitiveness

Understand our competitors' capabilities and position the company to be successful in pursuits aligned with our capabilities

Required Experience & Qualifications:

BS degree in engineering, construction or business (or equivalent)

15+ years of diversified experience, primarily in a business development capacity in the Industrial market, with specific recent experience and knowledge of the electric and gas Utility/Energy Market to be able to foster team collaboration and bring new differentiated solutions to those clients.

Successful track record selling both products and services to private and public utilities

Proven results with the development and execution of an industrial business development plan

Strong client relationships and ability to interface at all levels within client organizations, particularly in the Utility/Energy Sector

Capable of developing comprehensive client account strategies to produce winning results

Understanding of current Energy and Utility Market trends and technologies in this space.

Salesforce CRM experience developing pipeline growth and action across all opportunities preferred

Experience selling SAAS solutions to utility customers is a plus
