We are actively looking for a high-level, innovative, technical contributor with expertise in a broad range of business application systems and business processes for our Digital Solutions team. You will play a central role in the development and production of both hardware and software solutions for our transportation and government clients. (Our technology solutions are related to Vehicle inspections, vehicle communications systems (CAN, ETHERNET, etc) and emissions detection systems).
In this role, you will work with project management, internal sponsors, clients, and end-users to provide technical guidance and recommendations concerning the business implications and risks associated with implementing different applications or system modifications. We expect you to provide consultative support on all levels of IT and systems projects and solve complex IT problems as new systems and solutions are developed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Top-notch C/C++/JAVA coding skills, with a solid foundation in data structures and experience designing software from the ground up.
Design and develop applications used in Windows and Android Devices.
Provides expertise in the development and use of assigned business application systems, from small projects to enterprise-wide applications.
Develops hardware and software solutions to fulfill Business Unit's needs and endeavors
Uses analysis to develop recommendations for new system development as well as upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to existing applications, based on the technical implications of the decision and extensive knowledge of existing system solutions.
Develop low-level technical solutions that map hardware to software and analyze the financial, service, and timing tradeoffs of different application systems or enhancements and present the resulting information to the end-user sponsor and management, with recommendations for system implementation.
Reviews user requests for modifications, upgrades, or enhancements to existing business applications or for new application development.
Determines scope, technical requirements, budget estimates, timeframe, and detailed system design for proposed developments, upgrades, modifications, or enhancements to existing Parsons business applications.
Acts as the primary interface with the end-user throughout the development process. Provides ongoing support to the team during development, conducts quality assurance activities, and conducts user acceptance testing (UAT).
Designs software, hardware, and cloud-based solutions to create enhancements to the offerings regarding emissions, and heavy-duty vehicle communication.
Provides J2534 & J1939 design and development support through technical solutions in telematics, vehicle communication, and hardware firmware development.
4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 6+ years of progressive experience in hardware and software development combined with skill in programming utilizing specialized languages, in developing or implementing IT infrastructure solutions.
A thorough understanding of applicable project software applications and technology.
Familiar with the features and use of multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, C, JAVA, C#, etc) or limited familiarity with infrastructure (Cloud).
Experience with Embedded software is preferred.
Extensive experience identifying requirements via industry standards analysis techniques such as data flow modeling, workflow analysis, business process modeling, component diagrams, and functional decomposition analysis required.
Hands-on experience with one or more software products that support the above methodologies required.
Excellent problem solving, written/oral communication, and analytical skills.
Prefer experience with J2534, ISO22900, Vehicle Communication Protocols, and Vehicle Communication Mechanisms. Must have experience with Vehicle Development API's, and Hardware communication protocols.
Prefer Experience with Heavy-Duty Vehicle Programming (CAN) & Legacy Emissions testing on Passenger and Heavy-Duty Vehicles.
The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $100,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401K.
