Job Description:
Parsons is now hiring a H ighw ay & Drainage Engineer to join our talented and fast-growing St. Louis team. In this role you will work alongside a world-class engineering design team on major Missouri DOT and area projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project including coordination of technical disciplines and development of project alternatives, and preliminary and final design
Design horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, and super elevation diagrams, utilizing MicroStation Inroad and Open Roads
Perform quantity calculations project estimates
Assisting the project manager and providing guidance to more junior engineers in completing the project deliverables
Developing details to construction, detour, signing and marking, as well as erosion control drawings
Coordinate with project team and interdisciplinary technical personnel
Ensure that the project is adhering to client criteria and scope
Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management
Assisting in obtaining, analyzing, and circulating technical and contractual information to project disciplines
Provide assistance in identifying company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to form project teams to complete work
Assisting in identifying new project pursuits, gather intelligence regarding these pursuits, participate in Parsons’ pursuit process, and may lead response to client requests for proposals or qualifications
May manage a subtask of a smaller project or study in accordance with contractual obligations
May be responsible for the scope development, scope management and commercial performance of projects to meet project objectives
What Required Skills/Experience You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
3+ years of road or highway design experience
Geometric alignments design experience
MicroStation experience
Relevant road or highway design & engineering experience on interstate projects
Strong communication skills
What Preferred Skills/Experience You'll Bring:
Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT is highly preferred
Open Roads experience is desirable
MoDOT regional experience
Strong understanding of MoDOT policies & procedures
Roadway & Highway design experience for major state DOT interstate projects is highly preferred
Experience with interchange design is highly preferred
While there is an option for this position to work remotely, it is preferred still that candidates are either experienced in the Missouri market or open to relocating to Missouri.

Salary Range:
$59,300.00 - $119,700.00
