Job Description:

Parsons is currently seeking to hire a Sr. Process Engineer to provide expertise for engineering projects.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role: you will complete a wide variety of complex engineering assignments, apply process engineering techniques and analysis to the specific project assign. You will apply your professional engineering techniques and analyses which may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Willingness to travel to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • As a Process Utility Engineer, you will prepare project deliverables and contract documents including calculations, pipe design, and drawings for the Feasibility, Conceptual, Basic and Detailed Engineering phases.

  • Responsible for producing deliverables that are needed to support various AACE Classification cost estimates for the CAPEX projects

  • Complete knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for the pharmaceutical industry

  • Prior experience in troubleshooting; proposes and implements solutions to problems encountered with utility systems (process water, humidified air, fuel storage and distribution, process piping, HVAC)

  • Conduct or lead HAZOP for small to mid-size CAPEX projects

  • Lead and Participate in IDC/IDR cross-discipline squad checks

  • Participate in discipline checks for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project quality require

  • Survey existing process utility systems and examine field conditions as required to support the development and completion of projects. Must demonstrate experience in identifying field conditions that can impact the project objectives and scope and articulate them in a clear manner to project tea

  • Reviewing project scope and obtaining deliverables and due dates

  • Code reviews, client standards, and industry guidelines

  • Perform engineering calculations

  • Prepare contract documents (redline / produce floor plans, details, flow diagrams, and schedules

  • Prepare specifications

  • Construction administration (Answering RFIs, review of shop drawings)

  • Demonstrated ability to work with vendors and contractors, while interfacing with multiple departments, and working with internal customers to manage projects, policies, and procedures.

  • Attending project meetings

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Successful candidates will have in-depth knowledge of general building construction for process systems, as well as complete knowledge regarding the interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards for plumbing and process utilities

  • Experience in designing and engineering of plumbing and/or process utility piping systems in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and Healthcare industries with additional knowledge of purified water, compressed air, compressed gases, vacuum, plant and clean utility, ethanol, HVAC, cryogenic liquids, neutralization systems and process utilities.

  • Working knowledge of cGMP codes and standards required

  • Working Knowledge of CIP/SIP, clean room design/requirements, pharmaceutical process sanitary connections, valves and supply loops

  • Prepares complex process engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and P&ID's (Process & Instrument Design).

  • Completes a variety of process engineering assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

  • Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.

  • Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.

  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters and lower level Process Engineers working on the same project.

  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.

  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on process engineering related matters.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (or related field) and 12+ years of related work experience

  • Professional Engineer registration may be required

  • Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required

Salary Range:

$100,400.00 - $203,600.00
