Parsons Corporation Senior Space Cryptography Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia

You will work as an integral member of a team providing technical support for the development, engineering, and testing of cryptographic hardware and software for space and ground systems.

You will be able to:

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Space Crypto (i.e. MCU-110B, MCU-110C, KGT-42, KGR-42, KGT-247, KI-18, KI-103, KS-252, KIV-7MS, etc.) and COMSEC architectural, concept, and design;

  • Review development effort Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents, such as user manuals, and other technical documentation for technical accuracy;

  • Provide user support by troubleshooting equipment and system issues;

  • Mentor other Space Crypto Engineers for future Satellite missions

Required Qualifications :

  • BS/MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in: space ground operating equipment (GOE) and Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE), cryptographic architecture and requirements development, communications equipment testing, cryptographic system integration and test, aerospace electronic systems, or similar disciplines.

  • Understanding of most of the following:

  • Digital logic circuit design and analysis;

  • Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)/ASIC logic design and implementation; Cryptographic algorithms (i.e. PEGASUS, CARDHOLDER, CAROUSEL, AES-256, CARNIVAL, etc.) and equipment (i.e. MCU-110B, MCU-110C, KGT-42, KGR-42, KGT-247, KI-18, KI-103, etc.);

  • Space related hardware and technology;

  • Small satellite medium/high assurance security solutions;

  • NSA cryptographic certification;

  • Space and terrestrial communications systems;

  • TEMPEST testing

  • Candidates must currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance and be able to obtain a CI poly before start.

  • CISSP certification required within first year of hire.

Desired Additional Qualifications :

  • Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) – especially Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules, AES, GCM, and GCM-SIV

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
