Parsons is currently searching for a Senior Electrical Field Engineer to join our Automated People Mover Project Team.

Job Description:

Parsons is seeking aSenior Electrical Field Engineerto oversee and manage field electrical installation activities on the Chicago O’Hare Automated People Mover (APM) Project. TheElectrical Field Engineerwill become intimately familiar with contract scope, requirements, specifications, and deliverables; monitor and manage selected subcontractor development and deliverables; utilize best practices for change management, and quality assurance; and perform other duties as assigned.

The focus area of theElectrical Field Engineerwill be to act as the primary liaison between the Parsons design team and the electrical installation contractor. Key responsibilities include: overseeing the generation of shop drawings, reviewing shop drawings, leading constructability reviews with the installation subcontractors, managing field questions and RFIs, monitor installation activities to confirm installers have adequate design information, and to confirm contract requirements are being followed.

The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support to all aspects of the design, development, installation, documentation, and deployment of rail transit systems. TheElectrical Field Engineermust be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate personal initiative with a passion for details, problem solving, learning, and applying analytical decision-making principles.

The selected candidate will work closely with others in the team and with subcontractors to coordinate specific work plans to adhere to the project schedule. You will attend project meetings, maintain accurate and detailed record of installation activities, and work alongside managers, engineers and technicians responsible for the installation process. You will be the primary engineering representative in the field to verify that the equipment is being installed as intended.

  • 10 - 12+ years of electrical design and installation experience on rail transit systems

  • Track record of developing and maintaining positive team relationships and delivering toproject and client expectations

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices. Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project.
