Project Engineer/Senior Engineer - Transportation Infrastructure
We are adding a Project Engineer to our Roadway team in our East Central Region to focus on projects in Illinois and Iowa . We have had many recent exciting wins for these transportation agencies including multiple major river crossing projects that have extensive roadway planning and final design elements. In addition, we are seeking individuals that can support and take responsible roles on major design-build projects in the Midwest and nationally.
We offer the flexibility to work remotely full-time initially, with flexible options for the future. We have local offices in Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois within proximity to our clients. We perform engineering services for clients such as IDOT, IADOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, Cook and Collar counties, and we prefer individuals that have the awareness of the project delivery needs of these clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other technical professionals and become an integral part of a project team. You may be asked to and direct technical tasks and take a leadership role on roadway design activities on projects. Our project engineers are quality focused and will employ the Parsons Quality Management System during project implementation and delivery.
Prepare civil engineering roadway documents for design-bid-build and design-build projects meeting client requirements for deliverables.
Coordinate with internal and external clients on design designs and the preparation of engineering documents. Attend team meetings, presentations, and contribute to discussions with planners, technicians, CADD staff, and engineers at all levels.
Distribute work, manage progress on technical tasks and lead a group of engineers/technical specialists to meet our client deliverables.
Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget identified for major technical tasks and report to project manager on status of work/expenditures.
Ensure the highest quality engineering product is put forth to meet all design requirements.
Assist Project Manager with development of scope, schedule, budget and reports for awarded projects.
Assist Project Manager with budget related responsibilities which may include review sub/client invoices.
Participate in professional organizations and events.
BS Degree in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of related design engineering experience with road/highway/interchange projects.
Illinois PE required.
Proficient with developing roadway geometrics for planning and design projects.
Familiarity with roadway design engineering requirements and standards of IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, and Cook County including experience on Phase I (planning) and Phase II (Design) projects for these clients.
Extensive experience developing engineering documents in Microstation, Geopak, InRoads as required to meet client needs. Civil3D a plus.
Familiarity with quality programs and implementation of quality procedures.
Experience in drainage, traffic management, utilities, specifications or other project elements is a plus.
