Job Description:

Parsons’ Core Creative team is seeking a S enio r-level Graphic Designer with strength in page layout, document design, graphic/infographic design, presentations, and branding. This creative will work as an integrated member of our team, partnering on creative solutions for Parsons’ external projects. You will work closely with other members of Core Creative as well as directly with external clients.

This is a “casual” position meaning weekly hours will vary. We anticipate between 20 and 30 hours per week with potential to reach 40 hours but could also be less than anticipated. This role is likely to last for 3-6 months and could potentially go longer.

Candidates local to Charlotte, Chicago, or Washington D.C are preferred but we may be able to consider remote applicants based on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop story-driven and strategy-driven creative content for print and digital

  • Convert text into compelling visuals that amplify the message

  • Work as part of a creative team using established workflows, while taking ownership of assignments

  • Support formatting and layout design of long-form documents

  • Clearly express and present ideas, listen well, and collaborate with external clients and the team

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • AS Degree in graphic design and 6+ year's experience or equivalent education and experience

  • Experience working with technical diagrams and maps strongly preferred

  • Must have experience working creatively within a variety of brand systems and standards

  • Develop and deliver files optimized for print and digital deliverables

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat Pro)

  • Strong working knowledge of both Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Solid written communication and ability to proof work for quality and accuracy

  • Generally, a problem solver and creative thinker

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • BA degree in graphic design or similar preferred

  • Worked in an in-house creative team environment

  • Experience working in design and layout of magazine and/or highly designed catalogs may be relevant
