The responsibilities of the selected candidate will be

  • Document, evaluate, troubleshoot, and prioritize fiber optic and ITS IT network device failures of the system, and coordinate repair or regular maintenance activities of the system for the District ITS LAN Manager.

  • Documenting and reporting of ITS field device failures to FDOT.

  • Provides technical guidance to accommodate engineering and design work sharing that meet Parsons current and projected business requirements.

  • Troubleshoots application stability and functionality. Identifies issues, questions and problems for enterprise engineering systems, recommends and implements the solutions.

  • Identifies technical requirements and user needs; develops recommendations to modify or upgrade existing hardware to assure the efficient operation of systems.

  • Install, operate, maintain and upgrade IT hardware equipment with the RTMC, State TMC and at communications hub sites in the field.

  • Works closely as a team player to assist with enterprise-wide system upgrades

  • Securing, and protecting the ITS IT network and facilities against intrusions, and misuses of resources by using up to date systems, processes and technologies.

  • Planning, implementing, and updating system redundancies, consistent with industry standards at all levels, to minimize system downtime and increase security of the ITS IT Network.

  • Opening and closing ITS device failure tickets using MIMS (exact software subject to change}, preliminary failure troubleshooting from the RTMC, and notifying and coordinating with the ITS Maintenance Contractor(s) in resolving failures.

  • Providing the Department with device up-times and device failure occurrence reports derived from SunGuide® or other approved ticketing tools and applications.

  • Assisting the Department in performing the annual FDOT tangible personal property inventory management for the items that are assigned to the RTMC, STMC, and communications hub sites. This includes updating the inventory as items are received throughout the year.

  • Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related technical discipline, with experience in both engineering and IT. typically 4+ years of progressive experience working with engineering systems (CAD, CIE, GIS) or engineering collaboration application systems (ProjectWise™), or supporting specific projects that employ ES-related tools and applications.Must have knowledge of FDOTs advanced traffic management system ATMS SunGuide®Working knowledge of computer aided engineering, tools and methodology (CAD, CIE and GIS Applications).Knowledge of engineering and design collaboration systems [ProjectWise™] as well as design applications architecture, functionality and delivery.Ability to develop and use standard workflows to facilitate the delivery of dashboards and reports.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
