Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to help improve highway systems and reduce the amount of time it takes to get where you need to go .

What You'll Be Doing:

Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors.

  • Collaborates with and performs Business Development related work to market and secure additional work with client. Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project. Participates in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.

  • Works to extract the value out of existing contracts and to view opportunities strategically.

  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.

  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project, and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two-page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference.

  • Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project. Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths. Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates. Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical/business field and at least 15-20+ years of related work experience in road/highway projects is required.

  • Prior experience must include significant project management or construction management experience, handling projects in value of $100M and up, or similar in size/scope and complexity.

  • Experience should also include operations management of personnel and facilities.

  • Proven experience identifying strategic opportunities within existing projects.

  • Familiarity with alternative delivery methods is desired.

  • Experience working with the Michigan DOT is required. Experience with other DOTs nationwide or local governments are a plus.

  • Incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background, as well as previous project management experience on similar or related large-scope project types.

  • Michigan Professional Engineer license required. Licenses in other Midwest states is a plus

Salary Range:

$130,100.00 - $234,200.00
