Provide Systems Engineering expertise and support to enhance the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (MS) enterprise. The MS Systems Engineer provides technical assistance to the Director of MS Enterprise Engineering (MDA/ESE), who is responsible for chairing design reviews, enforcing standards, managing Enterprise Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and synchronizing all MS across the Agency. The MS Systems Engineer performs engineering duties to define the architecture, modules, interfaces and data for MS systems to satisfy specified requirements.
· BS/MS degree in Engineering orComputer Science (or related field), and 8+ years of related work experience with at least 5 years’ experience as a system engineer.
·Knowledge of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS)
·Experience with Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors and associated systems
·Experience with MS systems and their uses
·Ability to effectively participate and collaborate with functionally and geographically diverse teams of engineering professionals with differing perspectives, skills and backgrounds
·Ability to communicate relevant, well organized, complex ideas to audiences at all levels; oral and written
·Possess creative, analytical, strategic, outside-the-box thinking and problem solving
·Energetic, motivated self-starter
Desired Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
·Knowledge and application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principle, concepts and system modeling
·Working knowledge of systems-of-systems or family-of-systems, preferable in a DoD context
·Experience in the use and analysis of MS data for complex systems, preferable for the BMDS
·Experience with data architectures and creating complex data models for information systems
·Understanding of the field of data science, including data analytics and cloud architectures
·Ability to lead functionally and geographically dispersed teams of engineering professionals with differing perspectives, skills and backgrounds
