Parsons Mission Solutions Team is looking for an Orbit Analysis/Mission Planner to perform Orbit Analysis on multiple satellite missions on orbit and to be launched. This position will have multiple responsibilities to include Orbit Analysis, planning mission unique operations for different spacecraft including table management. Two or more years of experience in Astrodynamics and Orbit Analysis is expected, but training will be given to candidates for skills in Orbit Analysis and or Mission Planning as needed. This position supports Satellite Operations for a unique satellite systems in Colorado Springs, CO. T his is an onsite role with possibility of weekend and/or shift work.
Responsibilities :
Knowledge of orbital mechanic fundamentals relative to flight trajectories
Support operations to include satellite launch and early orbit operations, on-orbit operations, and end-of-life
Pre-mission astrodynamics analyses for satellites in various orbit regimes
Analyses of satellite and constellation access, coverage, lifetime, and additional trade studies
Launch window analysis
Maneuver planning and optimization analyses with operational support for orbit transfer and station keeping maneuvers
Propellant budgeting analyses, on-orbit fuel requirements, and mission lifetime estimates
Orbit determinations to specify tracking system parameters, define the orbital state, and predict orbital events
Concept of operations (ConOps) development
Position requires knowledge of spacecraft mission operations
Mission sequence of events definition
Participation in mission rehearsals to simulate orbital analysis tasks performed in operations
Support payload mission, scheduling, data trending and analysis, real-time operations, and spacecraft anomaly identification and resolution
Support and coordinate with Operations Director and mission partners in the daily coordination of orbit analysis and mission planning to include anomaly resolution, system conflicts and daily status as required
Daily tasking generating satellite visibilities to include but not limited to: Two Line Elements (TLEs), Vector Covariance Matrix (VCM), Orbit Event, and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) predictions
Provide input to assist with multiple aspects of orbital-related issues, such as message handling, troubleshooting, training, and other types of support related to orbital analysis
Required Skills/Abilities :
Able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
B.S. in Engineering, Physics, or related field, or 8+ years of relevant experience, or no degree and 10+ years related technical experience
Able to follow, maintain, and create complicated mathematical Astrodynamics algorithms
Experience with orbital operations and mission management
Experience with software systems, development environments, or programming languages is required
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
Analyze activities associated with both ground operational systems and spacecraft operational systems
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
Experience with Ground equipment
Desired Skills/Abilities
Experience in integration, and/or verification and validation
Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground station operations
Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with the spacecraft, software, hardware, integration and development
Experience in GNSS/GPS processing

Salary Range:
$92,200.00 - $161,400.00
