Job Description:
Parsons Corporation is seeking a talented and experienced mechanical engineer to support the design, prototyping and manufacturing of electronic assemblies in our Columbia, MD office. Duties will include:
Designing, drafting, prototyping, and production of mechanical and electrical assemblies utilizing 3D computer-aided design (CAD), traditional manufacturing methods, and additive manufacturing
Conducting and documenting engineering trade studies, thermal and structural analyses, and tests
Supporting design qualification testing, including electrical test fixturing, thermal testing, shock and vibration testing.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
3+ years of applicable engineering experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare written requirements and specifications.
Experience with CAD (Solidworks preferred)
Eligible for Gov’t Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with hands-on fabrication, assembly and test of engineering prototypes using typical machine shop equipment (mills, drill presses, etc) and electronics assembly (soldering, etc)
Masters from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
