Job Description:

Parsons Corporation is seeking a talented and experienced mechanical engineer to support the design, prototyping and production manufacturing of custom microelectronic devices in our Columbia, MD office. Duties will include:

  • Designing, drafting, prototyping, and production of mechanical and electrical components utilizing 3D computer-aided design (CAD), traditional manufacturing methods, and additive manufacturing/printed electronics

  • Researching, qualifying, and adapting new microelectronics packaging and assembly techniques

  • Conducting and documenting engineering trade studies, analyses, and tests

Required Qualifications

  • Top Secret/SCI clearance with poly

  • Bachelors or Masters from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Microelectronics, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.

  • 1+ years of applicable engineering experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare written requirements and specifications.

  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks preferred)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with hands-on fabrication, assembly and test of engineering prototypes using typical machine shop equipment (mills, drill presses, etc) and electronics assembly (soldering, etc)

  • Experience in additive manufacturing and/or printed electronics

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
