Parsons Corporation Agile Test Engineer in Dahlgren, Virginia

Parsons is seeking an experienced tactical system operator to serve as a Test Engineer embedded within an Agile Software Development Team, performing Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) of safety critical system requirements. The best candidate has experience with software-hardware system testing and is able to perform well in both Agile and legacy development environments. The embedded Tester is required to work with Software Developers to create and execute User Story Testing and Feature Testing. The Test Engineer will develop test cases, design test plans, and execute software and system tests for the purpose of collecting Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) needed to certify tactical software for fleet release.
Produce formal system requirements, document system design, and support the development and integration testing of the Navy Program of Record.
Conduct Formal Certification Testing and produce documentation of anomalies using Jira.
Contribute to multiple working groups as the IV&V functional team representative
Support Agile Team Meetings (Daily Standup, Sprint Backlog/Refinement, Planning, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline from an accredited institution (a combination of years of experience, education, training and certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree)
5+ years related professional experience
A proven self-starter able to work individually with limited supervision, and capable of working in small to large focus groups assigned to complex tasks.
Must be able to maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Demonstrable knowledge of and experience in the operation of Navy tactical fire control systems .
Software Testing Certifications such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Foundation Level
Automated Test Tool Development and/or use.
2+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience
Agile Development Experience
Experience with scripting / programming languages:
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
