We are currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (DevSecOps).
Parsons is seeking an experienced engineer to assist in the design, development, integration, and test of a virtualized, cloud-based software development environment. This system will support development and test of multiple software products with re-configurable interfaces across multiple operating systems. Applications of the system to be developed include rapid build-test-certification and future expansion to support software factory production lines.
Produce formal system requirements, document system design, and participate in the development, integration, and test of the cloud compute environment hosting numerous virtual machines
Design and implement a production-ready Private Cloud Compute Environment with:
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) Capabilities
Fully Automated Infrastructure Build Environment Supporting Highly Complex Virtualized Architectures for Rapid Provisioning and Configuration
Scalable Data Center with Automated Backup and Recovery
Mature DevSecOps Pipeline for Rapid Development, Integration and Deployment of Mission Applications
Parsons Systems Engineers perform a variety of engineering tasks related to the development, operation, and maintenance of cloud computing systems. The Systems Engineer analyzes integration of system processes and methodologies to ensure effectiveness of total system performance. The ideal candidate will support key system level activities in the deployment of state of the art systems by serving as a professional staff member onsite on the Governments team. Must be organized and effective in communicating plans, requirements, results and information to customers at a variety of management levels and technical backgrounds. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution (a combination of years of experience, education, training and certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree)
10+ years related professional experience
A proven self starter able to work individually with limited supervision, and capable of working in small to large focus groups assigned to complex tasks.
Software development experience
Networking protocol experience
Must possess an active Secret clearance
6+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Working knowledge in virtualization and containerization tools:
Red Hat Virtualization (RHV)
Red Hat OpenStack
Knowledge of Red Hat infrastructure tools:
Experience with the following scripting and programming languages:
DevOps Tool Experience - Jenkins, Ansible, GIT, Terraform, Prometheus
Demonstrated knowledge of physical and virtual network design and implementation
Insight on CI/CD architecture and pipelines
Military experience or former DoD experience
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
