Parsons Space Mission Solutions division has a full-time opening for a Principal Software Engineer to lead a small team of developers in support of our Neptune program in Colorado Springs, CO. Our focus is to provide our customers with practical, state of the art solutions to complex communications, command, control, and intelligence applications. This person will help design, implement, test, and validate software used to command and control satellites and payloads in orbit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop software using C/C++/Go/Linux RHEL

  • Design and implement software for a large-scale satellite command and control systems

  • Troubleshoot and report software anomalies

  • Work in a team environment, leading a small team of developers

  • Apply agile development practices and techniques to adapt rapidly to changing requirements and schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other relevant field of study OR equivalent combination of formal education and experience will be considered

  • 10+ years of software engineering/development experience preferably using C/C++ in a Linux environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar operating systems

  • Proficiency with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Go, etc

  • Knowledge of software configuration management tools (examples: git, BitBucket, Jira, etc.)

  • Experience documenting test results for corrective actions

  • Desire to work in the space industry developing satellite command and control systems for test and operations

  • Excellent trouble shooting skills

  • Previous experience in leadership

This position pays a minimum annual salary of $121,900.00 and a maximum annual salary of $219,400.00.

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
