With a portfolio of more than 4,500 crossings around the world, we've delivered landmark bridges that carry pedestrians, roads, railways, and pipelines. We are looking for a strong leader to join our team; one who inspires loyalty and commitment and understands how to design and deliver leading edge bridge projects, as we expand our Edmonton, Canada office. In this role, you will lead the Bridge design for the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project, as well as support other major Bridge design projects in Western Canada. As we build our Edmonton office, we will allow our employees to work remotely with required travel to our field offices.
The Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project is a 14-km long line extension of the soon to be in service Valley Line in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. The scope of work generally includes complex staging; new facilities such as stations, OMSF, storage facility, and stops; elevated guideway; new structures; systems and communications installation; trackwork; testing and commissioning; and all other civil works associated with the scope. It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT project after the 5-year construction term. The unique project challenges, such as cold weather climate and integration with an in-service LRT line, offers team members future career opportunities in the robust transit portfolio of the City of Edmonton and other similar endeavors across Canada.
In addition to the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT bridge lead role, this position requires a solid track record of managing bridge design and design-build projects and familiarity with Alberta Ministry of Transportation standards and project delivery. In this role, you will be an effective 'seller/doer' who balances business development and project management responsibilities and enjoys being technically hands on the project. We expect you to effectively plan, coordinate and mentor engineering resources to execute bridge projects for Alberta and other provinces. You will be planning, directing and controlling the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, schedule and administrative functions of the assigned project. Our Senior Project Managers establish program requirements for all areas of the project and monitor the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria, and interface with clients on a regular basis.
15+ years of related project execution and/or program management experience on for Bridge programs, that involve large scope design and construction. Experience with Design/Build project is required.
The incumbent should have a broad general technical and business background and direct experience with Alberta Ministry of Transportation.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited institution, a graduate engineering degree is preferred
Professional registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada is required
Ability and willingness to travel to support client and project teams, as projects dictate
