Job Description:
The Edmonton Valley Line West LRT project is a 14-km extension of the soon to be in service Valley Line in Edmonton, Alberta. This Joint Venture project is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Administrator.
The role is site based and will require relocation for candidates not already living in Edmonton.
The Senior Subcontracts Administrator will report to the Subcontracts Manager and will manage all aspects of the administration of a subcontract portfolio assigned by the Subcontracts Manager.
Essential:
7+ years of subcontract administration, coordination and/or management experience
Experience working within the Construction-side organization of a large Infrastructure project
Experience working with various Infrastructure contract models P3, Design-Build-Finance, etc.
Experience with Subcontract formation
Experience with bid evaluation
Familiar with Unit Price, T&M, and Lump Sum contracts.
Preferred:
Subcontract administration experience within a Joint Venture project structure
Administration of third-party Design Agreements
Previous LRT project experience
Experience using JD Edwards and Aconex
Procurement experience with the preparation of RFQs, RFPs, conduct of Bid Evaluations, etc.
Responsibilities:
Manage, coordinate, and administer subcontracts
Chair subcontract kick-off meetings as required
Manage the subcontract change process
Responsible for leading claim mitigation
Liaise with subcontractor and project stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner
Coordinate, evaluate and process payment certifications
Prepare and issue meeting minutes and track issues for resolution
Coordinate project close out documents for submission and forwarding to appropriate parties
Monitor and report on progress, incurred costs, accruals, pending changes and the cost forecast or Estimate-At-Completion (EAC).
Support design and construction staff with reviews and provide feedback / mentorship as it applies to subcontract awareness and commercial risks.
Represent the organization and interact professionally with sub-consultants, suppliers, and subcontractor representatives.
Attend regular internal coordination meetings to report on progress and issues related to assigned subcontracts
Skills, Competencies and Attributes
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office applications, SharePoint, JDE, Aconex
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in the fields of construction, engineering, legal, quantity surveying, or business administration.
