Parsons Corporation Wayside Signaling Engineer/Specialist - CANADA in Edmonton, Alberta

We are currently seeking a Sr. Wayside Signaling Engineer / Technical Specialist with expertise in traditional wayside signaling, as well as grade crossings and other line of sight signaling systems, to work on various major transit projects in the Canada, including primarily regions in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.
Responsibilities will include the following with respect to conventional signaling, train control and grade crossing warning systems:
Preparing specifications, standards and scope of work definitions
Evaluation and analyses of bids and design proposals
Reviewing and preparing signaling designs for transit systems (Mainline and Yard) including layouts, circuit and single line drawings and grade crossing warning system designs, drawings and all associated technical documentation
Performing assessments and analysis of designs, performance calculations, system logic, and site specific application details.
Providing technical expertise and recommendations related to design, development and installation
Providing technical oversight of subcontractors throughout the entire lifecycle, including design, supply, installation and testing
Performing field inspections during installation and associated report writing
Witnessing and oversight of field testing and commissioning and associated report writing
Preparing cost estimates associated with implementation and upgrades of signaling and grade crossing warning systems.
Ideally, the successful will have 15+ years of experience with design, installation and system testing including conventional signaling and grade crossing warning systems. Experience with PTC and CBTC would also be considered an asset.
Additional requirements would include:
Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent education, experience and aptitude
Must have working knowledge of signaling products and "vital" and "nonvital" circuit concepts
Technical experience within systems integration and testing in development projects, is required.
Must have good understanding of HW and SW interactions within complex systems architectures.
Must have good written and spoken communication skills
