Job Description:

Responsible for day to day logistics operations and procedures associated with coordinating services requested by sample collection site, including delivery of sample collection supplies and shipment of collected samples to the laboratories. . Oversees all logistics related activities at multiple sample collection sites. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Works closely with the shipping subcontractors (FedEx, UPS, and others) at the regional/local level to ensure that testing supplies are sent from distributing vendors to specific sample collection sites.

  • Works closely with the shipping subcontractors (FedEx, UPS, and others) at the regional/local level to ensure that testing kits/supplies are sent from the laboratories to the specific sample collection sites.

  • Works closely with shipping subcontractors (FedEx, UPS, and others) at the regional/local level to ensure that samples are picked up at sample collection sites promptly and delivered timely to the testing laboratories.

  • Coordination with specific sample collection sites to ensure samples are picked up timely.

  • Work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure that samples are being picked up at sample collection sites and delivered to the laboratories so the analytical results are available for reporting within 48 hours of sample collection.

  • Encourages safe and secure work environment and practices.

  • Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies and procedures.

  • Performs other responsibilities unique to the location or other locations within the same region.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS :Supervision Received - Logistics Manager, State Coordinator, Program ManagerSupervision Given - NoneInternal Contacts - All Employees on the programExternal Contacts- Clients; Suppliers; Subcontracted Laboratories PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 2-year trade school certification in logistics or one of the building trades (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant experience or a High school diploma (or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant experience, with some college level education or facilities related certification coursework preferred. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :

  • Working knowledge of logistics and shipping and a demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge to make decisions.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills are required. Additionally, a demonstrated proficiency in the use of internet search engines, electronic mail systems, and spreadsheets is required.

  • Ability to work on individual tasks and team tasks.

  • Ability to work with various levels of staff.

  • Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.

  • Applies knowledge and skills to details of work.
