3+ years of experience conducting System Engineering Analysis, System Safety Analysis, Risk Management and/or Hazard Analysis, and implementing DoD system safety programs
3+ years of experience on space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs
Experience defining and organizing program strategies and implementation plans for all phases of the acquisition life cycle that meet Statutory, Regulatory, Federal, State and Local policies
Knowledge of MIL-STD-882 safety analyses and safety program implementation
Ability to develop, manage, and execute Government and program system safety management plans, processes and products to include the System Safety Master Plan (SSMP), Programmatic Environmental, Safety and Occupational Evaluation (PESHE), Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation Plan, Safety Release Memo, and the Environmental Hazard Analysis.
Ability to identify potential risks, hazards, and deficiencies in operating procedures, system design, and training documentation, and make recommendations for resolution
Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
Highly motivated and dynamic work ethic with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
Nice If You Have:
Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems
Experience with planning and executing program reviews throughout the lifecycle of the system
Experience with ESOH (Environment, Safety and Occupational Health) risk management and NEPA compliance
Experience creating or reviewing Hazard Tracking Systems, Risk Acceptance Letters, and Safety Releases
Experience with using Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines
Knowledge of agile methodologies
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
