Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will get to support the Care and Maintenance team .
Local candidates are preferred but open to candidates on a rotational fly-in/fly-out basis.
Please note that this is a fixed-term contract to start with the potential to become a regular, full-time position.
What You'll Be Doing:
Working with a team to conduct job risk assessments and safe work plans before starting a task and performing work in a safe and well-managed manner.
Conducting preventative maintenance and servicing of fixed equipment.
Checking for proper performance and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
Diagnosing, troubleshooting and determining the extent of mechanical problems.
Rebuilding components and working with manufacturers when necessary.
Documenting and returning all completed work orders promptly.
Communicating with Supervisors and coworkers to coordinate work and provide updates.
Provide input and work collaboratively with Planners and Schedulers to develop work packages.
Working with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Conducting pipeline and pumping system checks, scheduled inspections, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repairs.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout workshops and other areas to ensure a safe work environment and effectively manage risks.
Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS and Environmental Management System standards by assisting with the implementation and participating in initiatives, regular meetings, investigations, and training. Participate in and contribute to audits in the maintenance and production facilities.
Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures. Ensure procedures are followed when carrying out all tasks, assisting colleagues in doing the same.
Various other labour duties associated with dewatering and water treatment systems.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Valid Journeyperson or interprovincial Millwright/Industrial Mechanic certification
Previous experience in a production-based plant or industrial plant setting is preferred.
Mechanical aptitude with multistage submersible, sump, and centrifugal pump experience.
Experience with previous CMMS programs or ability to learn Maintenance Connection.
Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
Must be able to follow and give directions effectively.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts.
Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various elemental conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
