Are you someone who has a broad IT skill set that you are looking to apply in a dynamic environment with global cyberspace reach? Are you looking to be part of a team where you can share your expertise and lead parts of a project? If so, we have a great opportunity for someone with solid IT networking skills supporting an Enterprise Architecture and Systems Engineering section within USCYBERCOM.

In this role, you will provide network and systems engineering support, build, administer and maintain multiple infrastructures, and tag in on network infrastructure engineering efforts. You’ll be working with a team of driven technical staff to develop solutions to tough problems, applying your accumulated knowledge while honing your skills on cutting-edge projects, to support the war-fighter.

Here are some of the tasks you will be asked to execute:

  • Determine user requirementsand design specifications for networks

  • Plans, schedules, andconducts the installation of new or modified hardware and associatedoperating systems and software applications

  • Designs and conducts testsand evaluations of USCYBERCOM’s networks. Analyzes and organizes thecorresponding hardware and software combined solutions through networkmodeling and planning

  • Performs system-level designand configuration of products, including determination of hardware,operating system, and other platform specifications

  • Evaluates new networktechnologies and makes recommendations to project managers regardingintegration of these technologies into the existing network

  • Plans new networkconfigurations and integration into existing networks to maintain optimalperformance

  • Provides subject matterexpertise to achieve joint full spectrum (terrestrial and space) networkinteroperability and integration

  • Applies Network Engineeringprinciples, methods, and tools for integrating components (for example,network equipment, protocols, telephony) to develop a functional system orprototype to test the security of computer networks

  • With no guidance, deploys,configures, improves, and supports scalable production and corporatenetwork infrastructure following enterprise best practices

  • Possesses an in-depthunderstanding of Network Infrastructure Design as it relates to thearchitecture/topology of software/hardware/networks, including LANs/WANs,their components and associated protocols and standards, and how theyintegrate with one another

  • Performsdata/information management in coordination with other team members


  • Minimum five years of experience as a Network Engineer

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline

  • Minimum of DOD 8140/DOD 8570 IASAE Level II Certification (CASP-CE, CISSP, CSSLP)



  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent communications skills

  • Experience with network security products (firewalls, IDS, scanners, etc.)
