We are looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our team in Tallahassee, FL. In the role, you will be involved with shaping the Florida Department of Transportation's Connected Autonomous Vehicle program today and for future generations. You can expect to focus on implementing and advancing the Department's 'Vital Few' of improving safety, advancing mobility, inspiring innovation, and fostering workforce development.
Conduct program management system services for the state of Florida in the following 3 areas: Connected or Autonomous Vehicles, STAMP, and Managed Lanes.
Primary Responsibilities :
Perform complex traffic engineering projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of traffic signal plans, traffic impact analysis reports and PS and E documents
Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed
Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, but project management is not sole focus of this position
Assist in managing a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
Perform other duties as needed
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related technical discipline required
Minimum of 5 years traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design
PE license required
Hands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, CORSIM
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
Strong verbal and written skills

Local candidates are preferred
Master's degree in Engineering or relevant field
Florida PE preferred
PTOE and CVP certifications
IMSA III, or PMP certifications
CAV deployment experience
Managed lanes and arterial management experience
