We are currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Advanced Engineer to work under the Resident Engineer to work on large construction projects in Arkansas. Read and interpret highway and bridge construction plans.
Perform engineering calculations relating to earthwork, geometry, areas and volumes, structural elements, etc.
Supervises work of assigned subordinates in construction engineering and inspection.
Reviews contractor submittals for compliance with contract documents and prepares appropriate responses. Provide technical review of construction documents to confirm design intent and coordination between design disciplines.
Analyze test reports on construction materials.
Provides independent estimates for scope changes, and reviews contractor change submittals for price/quantity accuracy.
Reviews and validates contractor project schedule and budget for all on-site activities, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements.
Performs daily site walks to confirm that construction methods and activities are performed safely and in accordance with construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements. Records findings in field log and communicates areas of concern to construction team.
Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and Project/Construction Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
Keeps client and Project/Construction Manager up to date on day-to-day project activities.
4-year degree in Engineering from an ABET approved Civil Engineering Curriculum
Engineer Intern certification or PE license.
3+ years of related work experience in engineering or construction as well as familiarity with industry practices.
Knowledge of construction project documentation and procedures.
Familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with Engineering and Construction.
A valid driver’s license is required.
