QRC tools cover CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, EvDO, WiMAX, LTE, and WIFI protocols.
QRC Technologies was acquired by Parsons in July 2019.
The Systems Design Engineer's primary responsibilities are to design solid models and drawing packages for new products, to update and modify existing products, and to fabricate and test them in conjunction with the Systems Engineering and Manufacturing staff. This position is expected to participate in the entire product development life cycle, including requirements analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, prototyping, and transition to manufacturing. Other responsibilities include participation in simulation, testing, and troubleshooting of designs in conjunction with the broader engineering team.
Experience designing conduction cooled, ruggedized, embedded hardware products
Study plans for upcoming generation of products, and develop strategies for improving upon current models
Design products using CAD and consult with engineering and manufacturing colleagues to ensure that designs are feasible
Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function
Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to performance and efficiency standards
Calculate cost estimates for final product designs
Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems
Experience with SolidWorks and Atlassian tool chains
Experience in Agile development methodologies
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a security clearance when sponsored by QRC
Preferred Skills or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent field or discipline (advanced degree is a plus)
5+ years of workplace experience designing and developing ruggedized embedded hardware products
Familiarity with cellular communication (e.g., GSM, CDMA/EVDO, WCDMA, WiMAX, LTE etc.) as well as HF/VHF/UHF communications
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
